The Department of Economics of the University of Macedonia organizes the 3rd International Conference in Applied Theory, Macro and Empirical Finance (AMEF), which will be held at the Department of Economics, University of Macedonia, Thessaloniki, Greece. The aim is to bring together researchers, young scholars, post-doctoral researchers and PhD students that are working on the areas of Economics and Finance. Selected papers will be included in special issues of (1) Applied Economics Quarterly, (2) Review of Economic Analysis and (3) South Eastern Europe Journal of Economics. The registration fee is 160 Euros and includes coffee breaks, two lunches and meeting material.

Following the completion of the 3rd AMEF conference (AMEF2017), we would like to ask all participants to consider the following options for their papers:
SUBMISSION DETAILSAn extended abstract (300-500 words) in English should be submitted no later than January 27, 2017 in pdf format by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. All abstracts should include the title, keywords, JEL classification, authors’ names, affiliation and an email address. For any further information, please contact email@example.com.
REGISTRATION DETAILSAll payments must be made by a bank account deposit by Febuary 24. Please mention AMEF and your name when making the deposit. The transfer payment details will be sent to you via email, upon paper acceptance. In case you will not receive an email, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please, note that the registration fee is 160 Euros. The fee includes coffee breaks, two lunches and meeting material. A reduced fee is available for those that want to participate. The “Makedonia International Airport” (airport code: SKG) in Thessaloniki is the second largest airport unit in Greece, serving over 5 million passengers per year and served by 27 international airlines on a regular basis, in addition to an extra 10 airlines that operate during the summer using charter flights. Thus it connects the city to many European capitals and several other European cities by direct flights. It also offers direct flights to other major cities of Greece and many Greek islands. Among the air-companies that fly to Thessaloniki’s airport are: Aegean Airlines, Austrian Airlines, British Airways, Lufthansa, Scandinavian Airlines, Turkish Airlines and many low-cost companies such as Ryanair, EasyJet and Wizz Air. The airport is located 16 km from the city center.
A public bus service (no. 78 and no. 78N) connects the airport with the center of the city at 20-minute intervals throughout the day and takes you to the center in less than 30 minutes (ticket costs €2). A taxi service is also available at the airport on a 24-hour basis.

The 2nd International Conference in Applied Theory, Macro and Empirical Finance (AMEF2016), held at the University of Macedonia, Thessaloniki, Greece, May 6 – 7 2016, was successfully completed with more than 70 participants. The distinguished Keynote Speakers of AMEF2016 were Professor Karim Abadir, Imperial College London, UK, Professor Thanasis Stengos, University of Guelph, Canada ,and Professor Anastasios Xepapadeas, AUEB, Greece.

The 1st International Conference in Applied Theory, Macro and Empirical Finance (AMEF2015), held at the University of Macedonia, Thessaloniki, Greece, 6-7 April 2015, was successfully completed with more than 70 participants. The distinguished Keynote Speakers of AMEF2015 were Professor Stephen G. Hall, University of Leicester, UK, and Professor Elias Tzavalis, AUEB, Greece.
